Description
A “sometimes wine” that can only be created under the right conditions either by latitude or altitude when a cold snap below -5C comes early to allow wineries to press out any remaining red grapes frozen. Typically red grapes don’t make ice wines as they are harvested during September and October before it becomes too cold. Our multi-international gold medal winner tastes like strawberry rhubarb pie in a glass. Made in the Austrian ‘Auslese’ style, the natural acidity is kept in the wine and not precipitated out with a malo-lactic fermentation. This makes a wine that is sweet, but not too cloying or syrup-y. Beautiful and a very popular seller!
